Endorsement
Global Talent for Arts and Culture Leaders
Eligible creative fields, endorsement through Arts Council England and its partner bodies, and settlement timelines.
Summarised from GOV.UK, last checked 24 October 2026. Fees and rules change, so always confirm the current requirements on GOV.UK before applying.
Eligible fields
You can apply as a leader or potential leader in:
- Combined arts, dance, literature, music, theatre or visual arts
- Architecture
- Fashion design
- Film and television, including animation, post production and visual effects
- The design industry
Endorsement
You usually need an endorsement unless you have won an eligible prize. The Home Office sends your application to an endorsing body with expertise in your field. Arts Council England leads this route, working with specialist bodies for areas such as architecture, fashion, and film and television. How you apply depends on your field.
You will get a decision about your endorsement within 8 weeks.
Settlement
You may be able to apply for indefinite leave to remain after:
- 3 years if you applied as a leader
- 5 years if you applied as a potential leader
If your endorsement is refused
You can request an endorsement review. Requesting a review, or applying for an endorsement, does not extend your current permission to stay in the UK.
